Core Mentorship Requirements

• Supervised Clinical Hours: Programs aligned with IFOMPT standards require direct, one-on-one clinical supervision with a registered or credentialed manual therapy mentor. 

• Direct vs. Indirect Hours: Curricula often split requirements into direct patient-care mentoring and indirect learning (such as peer study groups, case reviews, or reasoning discussions).

• Mentor Qualifications: Mentors must typically be recognized Fellows or hold advanced specialist credentials through their national Member Organization (MO) (e.g., FAAOMPT in the US or equivalent international fellow status). 

• Local Standards: Because IFOMPT sets global educational minimum criteria rather than direct individual certifications, specific hour breakdowns and application procedures are administered locally by national organizations like the Philippine Academy of Manual and Musculoskeletal Physical Therapists (PAOMPT).
